Student Exchange in Baku: Learning Together on Climate Adaptation

In September 2025, eight students from Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU Giessen) visited Baku as part of the project “Geographical Education and Research Innovation: Collaborative Climate Adaptation Strategies in Azerbaijan.” The visit strengthened our cooperation with the Institute of Geography (Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan), the Faculty of Geography at Baku State University.

During the exchange, students took part in joint seminars, workshops, and discussions with local partners, focusing on climate adaptation strategies and practice-oriented approaches in geographical research and teaching. Alongside the academic program, cultural activities and everyday encounters in Baku created space for meaningful intercultural learning, an essential foundation for long-term collaboration.

We thank our hosts and partners in Baku for their warm welcome and inspiring exchange, and we look forward to the next joint project activities.
